Again, the NLA is gratefull for the generous commitments from the sponsors of this prestigious event - whose contributions make its running possible. The NLA Committee would like to encourage our members to visit our sponsors in appreciation of their support.
Also, be sure to shop at Park Beach Plaza which has been the major sponsor of the event now for 3 years. They cater for all shopping needs and have plenty of parking. Coopers Surf Shop in the plaza will be providing vouchers for discounts, and Swimwear Australia, also in the plaza, is sponsoring the Womens’ divisions.

Summary of 2010 AGM of the New South Wales Longboarding Association (NLA)

Committee for 2010 - 2011 as for 2009 - 2010
The Double Elimination Format will continue as in previous years
Mark Windon, CEO from Surfing New South Wales, (SNSW) addressed the meeting.
  •           Following his address, a Motion was put to the meeting that "we accept the SNSW offer to assist with the running of the State Titles each year".
  •           This help would include the supply of equipment, including the computerised judging system, and some personnel.
  •           The NLA would need to fund the assistance to the estimated tune of around $5000
  •           A good deal of this would be offset by having to have less judges (5 instead of 7-8)
  •           All judges would still be chosen by the NLA, and would all be non-surfing
  •           Also as part of the arrangement, SNSW would make use of their website for State Titles Entry Forms, as well as offering an on-line payment system
  •           The Motion was carried unanimously
Coffs Harbour will tentatively be the venue for the 2011 State Titles. If interested, other areas are welcome to put their hand up
Motion put forward that "competitors in the Regional Eliminations / State Titles be allowed to compete in more than one Age Division".
  • This was passed following an amendment that "no discount would be offered for the second Age Division"
  • Passed unanimously
So what this means is that people may surf in as many Age Divisions as their age permits, but must pay the full fee for each Division. Discounts will still apply if a surfer is competing in one Age Division and one Open Division
Motion was put forward that "a Stand-Up Paddle Division (SUP) be included in the next State Titles"
  • Due to the length of the State Titles at present (7 full days), this Motion was amended to "SUP Division be included in the next State Titles at the expense of the 8-Foot and Cadet Division", both of which do NOT compete at the National Level
  • This Motion was defeated
